I’ve been away from the loop with football too much time. I loved it as being a kid, becoming an adult. Being from Texas, it turned out always the Cowboys. In those days, the heroes were Roger Staubach and Tom Landry. Eventually, after going to California, I found myself often rooting for John Brodie of the 49ers, but it really really was always Cowboys in the event the two came head-to-head. Today, I’m retired. The difficulties of due dates, personal initiatives and endless errands have reduced. And I wax nostalgically for the gridiron along with the exhilaration of the competition. Yes, I’m going to be watching even more football. You can bet on it.
